Artistic Designer

Over twenty years ago, Robert’s passion for hair was inspired by watching Nick Arrojo transform people on the TLC show “What Not To Wear”. Seeing the way it changed people’s level of confidence and self perception sparked the desire to begin cosmetology school.
During Robert’s first apprenticeship at Jean Paul he assisted both a Sassoon trained haircutter and an Aveda master colorist. These two women encouraged quality and excellence in his work, a practice he continues to strive for daily. Through advanced training with AVEDA, Goldwell and Arrojo Academy, Robert continued to quench his thirst for knowledge. Realizing how integral this was to his success, he decided to pursue the path to work becoming an industry educator in order to pay it forward to his fellow stylists.
Robert’s journey began with winning the Rising Star award in 2014 from Milady, the industry’s leading Cosmetology education company. He was sent to L.A. to develop cutting and styling content for the their online training portal and, in a full circle moment, was later asked to assist Nick Arrojo in a similar shoot.
Next came the audition for Goldwell‘s very first cut and design team, where Robert was selected out of 500 applicants to form an elite team of 25 cutting and styling experts. After three years of traveling and teaching stylists both regionally and nationally(and a global pandemic), he decided to step away from education to focus on what matters most, his client’s service experience.
Outside of the salon, Robert’s other passions involve traveling and music. Most Sundays you’ll find Robert directing the choir at First United Methodist Church in East Greenbush(it’s a long story, you’ll have to ask him sometime). And then occasionally those two things combine when he and his husband hit the road to attend shows performed their favorite band (IYKYK).
