Our Story
Friends for over a decade and partners for life, Jenn and Lilly began with a vision of a positive, stress-free oasis that encourages personal growth, professional goal setting, and financial freedom.
An environment where guests and team members alike are inspired to be the best versions of themselves, both inside and out.
When they opened their doors in August of 2021 it was a questionable time. Still not out of the woods from the ever-changing Covid rules and regulations, One OAK consisted of a mere five stylists in a 3,000 square foot space with 20 more stations to fill.
Going into 2024, their team more than tripled in size, and their space has evolved into a warm, welcoming environment with it's own unique vibe. With a strong focus on education for both their team and their guests, the end of 2023 brought exciting renovations.
In September, Jenn and Lilly revealed the transformation of their former barbershop into a brand new Barbershop @One Oak corner and education center. Firm believers in a community where local salon owners work together to support each other, they kicked off their first successful class open to other salon stylists in November 2023.
At One OAK, we as a team believe in inspiring positive change, beginning each day with purpose, and going above and beyond to make our guests look and feel their best.
Jenn Shea
Owner/Brow Artist/Spray Tan Technician
An industry leader for over 22 years, Jenn began her career in the beauty world in 2001, managing New York’s distributor for One OAK’s leading elite color line - Goldwell. Her love of product and genuine care for her customers drove her to the sales side of the company. Jenn’s extensive knowledge and authenticity led her to win the highest overall growth as a consultant for an impressive 15 years of her career.
With the desire to absorb as much information as she could about the lines she supported in sales, Jenn attended countless classes in both hair and aesthetics. In 2021, she became a part of the Surface Insider Team, where she learned more in depth about the organically derived ingredients behind the line and how to translate that knowledge to her stylists at One OAK while building her business.
After gaining experience in all fields, Jenn found her own niche in brow design and skin care. Following her ambition to grow in both, she became licensed in waxing by the Aesthetic Science Institute in 2019. A firm believer in only using/selling products that you can fully stand behind, Jenn and her long time bestie, Jenna Henau, put their heads and hearts together to create the perfect skincare line. In 2022, they launched J. Leigh Glow Co. - a luxury skincare line sold exclusively at One OAK.
Outside of the salon, Jenn is a proud wife and mother of three. She enjoys attending any and all events with family and friends, and can be found most weekends cheering her kids on at school and life events. An avid lover of photography, Jenn also finds joy in being behind the camera. From family portraits to adventuring into abandoned buildings, she brings out the beauty in everything.
Lilly Miller
Owner/Executive Designer
Lilly inherited her passion for hairstyling at an early age. A second generation stylist, the desire to follow in the footsteps of her beloved grandmother fueled her determination to succeed. Lilly began her career in 2006 at a high end salon comprised of the area's most skilled stylists. She assisted for two years, which provided a solid platform to spread her wings and begin her own journey.
Lilly’s career truly began to take shape after accepting the role as a national educator and platform artist for Surface Hair. Working under the influence of international artists, she found her niche in a position that combined her love of personal health and creative styling, while satisfying her need to leave the earth a better place than she found it. After several years of sharing the latest trends, techniques, and groundbreaking product both behind the scenes and on stage, Lilly took a step back from her position at Surface to focus on her career behind the chair, her growing family, and designing her dream salon with her partner in business (and in life!) - Jenn.
Although no longer teaching in a classroom or show setting, Lilly fulfills her passion for sharing knowledge with her guests and team members, and continues to master her craft through continued classes and education. In 2021, she jumped back on board as an in-house educator for the Surface Insider Team to stay up on the latest trends, techniques, products and training. She has a love of classic styling as well as avant garde work, and is a certified extension specialist. An accomplished stylist and proud mother and business owner, Lilly is warm, welcoming, and mindful to all of her guests’ wishes.
Kate Oakey
Senior Designer/Makeup Artist/Spray Tan Technician
A true beauty extraordinaire, Kate began working in a salon at 17 and has been involved in the industry ever since. After graduating from Paul Mitchell the School, she began styling in a salon, expanding her services into makeup and receiving a Bridal Makeup Certification from Jane Iredale in 2010.
A rockstar in the bridal world, Kate’s independent company KO Beauty has won best in beauty services in 2022 and 2023 by the Adirondack-Albany Wedding Association. Her makeup line, Kosmetix by KO Beauty, features her signature lip shades and is proudly distributed by One OAK!
Holding dual cosmetology licenses in New York and Florida, Kate is a certified Babe Hair extension specialist and custom airbrush spray tan technician. We are proud to announce that in 2023, she persisted in continuing her education by becoming a certified Goldwell Color Specialist. One of 18 professionals selected in the entire US in 2023, Kate also completed her KMS Portfolio Induction, propelling her into a position as an official KMS brand educator.
Beki Silva
Creative Designer
Beki is a passionate artist who will work alongside you to reach your hair goals. She feels pure joy out of helping her guests to see themselves in their best light, both inside and out. Beki strives to cultivate an atmosphere of creativity, comfort, inclusivity, respect and good vibes.
A teacher by nature, Beki landed the role of Director of Education at One OAK in 2023, and was awarded the position of their first ever Goldwell brand ambassador in 2022. Her favorite services include vivid colors, both precision and creative cutting, and blonding. Beki’s patience, advanced skill level, and attention to detail from a thorough consultation to finding the perfect natural light to showcase her guests’ look, guarantees a one of a kind experience.
In her spare time Beki enjoys spending time with her kitties, watching movies on VHS, and her love of thrifting shows through her incredible, unique style.
Jenna Huneau
Creative Designer
With 20 years of experience in the beauty industry, Jenna has become a true master of her craft. She prides herself on forming strong relationships with her guests, and translates each unique style and personality to be reflected in their hair.
A believer that continued education is essential to any career, Jenna has worked behind the scenes, as well as attended, countless classes and hair shows over the years. With a passion for dimensional color and the natural gift of efficiency, Jenna designed a “Blonding Bootcamp” course taught exclusively at One OAK. She shares her knowledge of customizing color formulation, placement techniques, and “hot tips” for stylists looking to achieve their desired result in a timely manner. For guests that are short on time but looking for a high impact color, Jenna is the perfect fit. Her artistic abilities have also led her outside of the salon walls and into on-site formal styling for special events and weddings. Her confidence is unmatched, and so is her design!
In 2022, Jenna created a luxury skincare line J. Leigh Glow Co. with One OAK co-owner and long time bestie, Jenn Shea. With a passion for product and the desire to formulate a line that not only improved the appearance but also supported overall health, they successfully launched J. Leigh at One OAK in 2023. When she’s not behind the chair Jenna can be found curling up with a good book, walking her little yorkie Piper and traveling throughout the northeast to visit her nieces and nephews. She has a love of high end fashion and is known for her famous ginette cookies!
Michael Davis
Artistic Designer
Michael joins us from Los Angeles, California where he was an IATSE 706 Union member, and Emmy Nominated Celebrity Hairstylist. Working around the world in the film and television industry, Michael has over 2 decades of experience with celebrities on such shows as Good Girls, The Mindy Project, Glee, Young Sheldon, ER, CSI: NY, True Blood, Pushing Daisies, Dexter, The Rookie, American Horror Story and Pretty Little Liars.

Michael is a Goldwell Color Specialist and a master hairstylist offering cuts, color maintenance and correction, extensions, hair piece installation, and special occasion styling to make you look and feel like a celebrity!
Olivia Hoy
Studio Designer
Creative, versatile, and enthusiastic in her work, Olivia has a love of all things hair. A certified stylist in Surface Art Training, Olivia is the perfect fit for anyone looking to up their game in organically derived styling. She takes pride in tailoring her guests’ experience to fit their individual needs. From scalp health to finished styling, Olivia customizes at home care in between visits to keep her guests looking fabulous even when they’re not in her chair.
Her favorite services include blonding, lived in color, and creative color services. She enjoys big transformations - from cutting hair off to adding it back in with adhesive extensions for fullness and/or length, Liv is game for any big change her guests have in mind! Most recently certified in Keratin smoothing treatments, Olivia actively participates in ongoing education. Outside of the salon, Liv finds happiness in spending time with friends and family, loves traveling, and is always on the hunt for her next adventure.
Shelby Tanzer
Studio Designer
A stylist of over 5 years, Shelby collaborates with each guest to create a style that expresses their individuality. From consult to finish, Shelby takes the time to create a look that exceeds her guests’ expectations.
Certified in beaded, hand-tied, and tape-in extensions, she loves a good transformation! Her passion for creative colors illustrates her artistic side, and she is continuously elevating herself through advanced education. Shelby strives to make her guests feel beautiful and turns hair dreams into reality.
Outside of the salon, Shelby loves spending time with her beautiful family. She also enjoys fishing, kayaking, traveling and all things spooky.
Marissa Maiello
Studio Designer
Marissa’s love of hair began at the early age of 6. During time spent with family and friends, she would play with anyone’s hair she could get her hands on, envisioning herself as one day becoming a professional hairstylist. In 2021 Marissa took those dreams and turned them into a reality. She graduated as a licensed cosmetologist from Questar and continued her education as an assistant stylist to a Goldwell Educator and extension specialist at one of the area’s elite salons.
After a year of training, Marissa decided to change up the scenery and landed the position as a full time Associate Designer at One OAK. She dedicated another 6 months to sharpening her skills and continued to advance her skillset at classes, hair shows, and online certifications. Marissa is hard working, fun loving, and pays specific attention to detail, whether it is perfecting a money piece or organizing everyone’s stations to her liking. Her honesty and sense of humor keeps everyone on their toes, and she thrives on making her guests look and feel their best throughout every service.
Marissa has found her niche in any and all blonding services, and her meticulous ways have led her to become one of One OAK’s top styling specialists, with a specific passion for weddings, proms, and formal styling. Outside of the salon, Marissa loves hiking, taking road trips (especially to the beach), and exploring beautiful new places.
Kristina Ciampi
Master Barber/Studio Designer
A Master Barber and creative stylist for over a decade, Kristina, brings her own flavor to One OAK. Although she began her career as a Barber, Kristina’s desire to broaden her skill set led to advanced cutting, coloring, and texture enhancement in all areas of creative hair design.
With extensive training and unparalleled experience in a variety of areas, Kristina has a unique eye and strong attention to detail. Her favorite services include cutting, dimensional color, balayage, vivids and classic barbering. Her brow design game is on point, and so is her thrifting. Aside from resale shopping, Kristina also enjoys live music, tending to her plants, and watching documentaries.
Sophie Wickham
Associate Designer/Aspiring Lash Technician
Immersed in the salon environment at an early age, Sophie's adoration of the beauty world became her dream career opportunity in 2023. A graduate of Orlo School of Hair Design, Sophie dove in head first, advancing her skills by accepting the position of an associate designer under Kate.
Sophie's charm and quick wit keeps the vibe fun and positive with team members and guests alike. She is dedicated to making everyone feel their very best, and is always there to lend a caring hand.
Although she loves a lived in color moment, Sophie has found her passion in the finer details of the industry. An aspiring lash technician, Sophie is looking forward to expanding her skillset and service menu in 2024. Her greatest reward as an artist is seeing her guest's inner light shine through their smile after a service has been completed.
Lola Thomas
Front End Coordinator
Lola began her career in the beauty industry in the summer of 2023 while competing observation hours for Capital Region BOCES. In love with the unique atmosphere and warm vibe of One OAK, Lola officially joined the team as front end coordinator that fall.
Fully immersing herself in the salon culture while she completes her last 10 months of school, Lola absorbs as much advanced education as she can while greeting each guest with a warm smile. Lola is always eager to lend a helping hand to both guests and team members alike, going above and beyond to take each experience from good to great. While in school, Lola gravitates towards specializing in color and styling. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, playing video games, and spending time with her cats.
